GIANTS 2016 Financial Results
The GIANTS have announced their 2016 financial results with the club recording an operating surplus of $79,372 prior to depreciation and provisions.
The results show 2016 was a year of unprecedented growth across the club with a significant increase in commercial revenue.
GIANTS Chief Executive Officer David Matthews said the AFL’s youngest club made significant strides in 2016.
“We were pleased to once again record an operating surplus following record growth across all key metrics in 2016 and further build our financial base.” Mr Matthews said.
“2016 saw the GIANTS sell out home games in Sydney and Canberra, take part in the AFL Finals series for the first time while we welcomed greater investment from the corporate sector.
“Having set a membership record in 2016, we have already broken this record in 2017 with membership currently 80% up year on year.
“Last year also saw the club expand to include a team in the inaugural AFL Women’s competition in addition to entering a strategic partnership with Netball New South Wales to create GIANTS Netball.
“Following further expansion of our GIANTS Care initiative in 2016, our community partnerships in Western Sydney and Canberra have never been stronger.”
